How has school encouraged or discouraged your creativity? How do you think/hope Capstone will be different from other classes? In what ways do you think you use your creativity?
School, for me, has always been a sort of burden. As someone who puts everything they have into everything they do, spreading my energy across all the work school gives is a challenge. I often find I have none left for any of the creative activities I normally like to do, like making art or coming up with some sort of project. As mentioned in Prince EA's video "I Sued the School System," modern education is set up nearly identical to how it was 100 years ago. However, each individual is unique, everyone has a different way of learning, or a different, as Sir Ken Robinson puts it, "natural learning habitat." I was once told that the importance of school is for an individual to learn how they learn best, yet if school continues to teaches everyone the same way, no one will ever learn. I hope Capstone will differ from other classes for this reason, so I can "learn to learn."
